Review Meeting for JCHX Scientific & Technological Achievements was held in JCHX HQ on September 12 with the attendance by CNIA expert group and members of JCHX project team. Two S&T achievements submitted by JCHX were unanimously approved by CNIA upon presentations to and deliberation by the review panel.

At the meeting, members of JCHX project team elaborated on the two scientific achievements to the panel.

One of the achievements is “Research on Key Technology in Overhand Continuous Mining with Long-Hole Drilling in Paralleled Medium-Thick Ore Bodies”. The innovative method - staged stope backfilling with overhand continuous mining, which leaves no crown pillar nor sill pillar, helps to reduce stripping ratio and increase recovery ratio. In addition, one-time shaping of high slot raise with staged blasting technique was developed to effectively control risks, roof contact with CRF in stope as well as strengthened ground support with bolt and anchor in interlayer pillar were applied to address the instability problem of bottom structure without pillar.

The other achievement namely “Research on Key Technology in Efficient Construction of Underground Ore Passing & Crushing System in Metal Mines”, ensures work safety through adopting upward and downward pilot tunneling, mucking though raises, arch roof support prior to sidewall, and benched excavation, particularly under poor ground condition where it’s difficult and risky to establish ore passing and crushing system. Besides, directional fracture-controlled blasting technique with slit charge was developed to effectively control the excavation profile in the chamber; integrated concrete pouring to the high wall of crushing chamber, feeding chamber and top ore bin was developed to strengthen ground support; and simultaneously construction on multiple benches was applied to enable paralleled ground support in ore passing and crushing system, which largely increases efficiency.

The expert group listened carefully to the elaboration and thoroughly reviewed the submitted documents. All inquiries raised by the expert group were responded by members of JCHX Project with satisfactory feedback. Upon deliberation, the expert group pointed out that these two scientific achievements are both advanced technology with high practicality and in line with international level.

At the end, the expert group unanimously approved these two scientific achievements.
