Xiancheng Wang, Chairman of JCHX Group, visited Chambishi project from August 26 to 29, during when he inspected two panels for the mining methods and stope conditions, gave instructions over IT application and standardized construction, and extended greetings to employees standing fast to their posts.

Wang, upon arrival, participated in the GM (Zambia Region) work meeting, before going UG to 316mL and 600mL with the accompany of the project manager and crew foreman, from where he inspected the mining method and stope conditions, and listened to the project’s report over IT application and standardized construction.

Wang made requests over localized management, safety management and technique discipline, noting that localized management plays a vital role in strengthening relationships with local communities and improving JCHX’s core competitiveness overseas, urging that Chambishi, as the first overseas project of JCHX, should innovate and summarize more scientific and diverse mechanisms to motivate and attract localized workers on the basis of current rich experience, and suggesting that local workers should be presented with opportunities to participate in project management and decision-making to enhance their sense of responsibility and identity to overcome challenges together with Chinese workers. Besides, Wang demanded that an improved training system for local workers should be established to strengthen their skills and abilities, requiring Chambishi to adhere to the principle of safety first for successful completion of production target.

On August 28, Wang went to Southeast Orebody Project of Chambishi Copper Mine for inspection, requiring the project to strengthen the balance of mining and filling, enhance the continuity of work procedures, make adequate preparations for new panels so that mining activities can start as soon as that in old ones are completed, carry out spot check and maintenance of equipment via quantitative management and pursue equipment maintenance instead of equipment repairing. He also put emphasis on SOP implementation to reduce equipment failure and on LHD modification to realize remote control.

From August 29 to September 4, Wang visited Lonshi project and Dikulushi project in DRC to extend greetings to front-line workers standing fast to their posts. At Lonshi project, he inspected safety facilities and work conditions of mining and development faces and checked the technical process and equipment operation at processing and smelting plants, before making specific requests on safety production, technology innovation and management improvement, and demanding Lonshi project to improve product quality and services, maintain advantages through technological innovation and actively explore new technologies for green and intelligent mining.

At Dikulushi, Wang required the project to maintain the momentum of high and stable production already achieved in Q2 to realize the sales target of copper concentrate this year during inspecting the processing plant and the cemented backfilling plant that was just technically upgraded. Besides, Wang urges the project to integrate into local development, constantly improve localized and international management, further optimize the processing flow to increase the recovery rate, and explore the possibilities of reserve increase to extend the life of mine.

From September 1st to 13rd, Wang visited and inspected JCHX projects in DRC. On September 1st, Wang paid a visit to Kinsenda project and met leaders from the Owner. During the visit, he stressed the importance of strengthening localized management and improving the comprehensive quality and skills of local employees, given the significant roles played by them in the overseas projects, meanwhile he requested more focus on their needs and bigger efforts in enhancing their sense of responsibility and identification. He also emphasized the necessity of following the principle of safety-first, strict compliance with the SOPs and continuous improvement in safety production for realizing annual production and operation goals.

On September 7, Wang went to Kamoya project, where he listened to the production plan during the transition from capital construction to production, inspected underground working area, including the main haulage drift and cross drifts on 940mL to check standardized operation and civilized construction. In the following three days, Wang headed to the northwest and southeast mining areas, as well as LH stoping area at Kakula mine to gain first-hand insights of work status, mining and development process and equipment operations, with focus placed on roof support and safety measures for large-section development. He requested unremitting efforts to be placed in safety management and production organization to lay a solid foundation for achieving the annual production target, a full play of JCHX’s technical advantages as well as innovative ideas in production organization and equipment management, more scientific use and maintenance of large-scale trackless equipment, strengthened utilization of service systems in mechanized operation and enhanced talent training.

On September 10, Wang arrived at Musonoi project and inspected the installation of the hoisting system of multi-purpose shaft and the progress of auxiliary works, asking about the equipment installation and commissioning performance, while requesting solid implementation of safety precautions for working at heights, strict inspection of working areas prior to the execution of works, especially in windy and thunderstorm days; in addition he mentioned the importance of summarizing experiences and integrating theory with practices, especially in terms of innovative methodologies, new ideas and thoughts generated during the erection and installation of headgear.

On September 13, Wang turned to Kipushi project to inspect declines and sub-level developments, during which he gave detailed instructions and guidance on key concerns for subsequent LH stoping and how to minimize boulder frequency and borehole deflection. Later, Wang met with Piet and Johan, respectively the Mine Manager and Chief Engineer of KICO, highly complimenting their management and planning capabilities. Piet extended a warm welcome to Wang and wished a long-term cooperation based on win-win situation.
